Diamond B Ranch
Diamond B Ranch sits on the former site of the historic El Roble Grande Ranch, once home to the largest Valley Oak in California. The ranch was also formerly an Arabian horse breeding facility. We maintain the indoor riding arena and outbuildings in their rustic elegance and the lush pastures are now home to our American Saddlebred Horses.
American Saddlebred Horses
American Saddlebred Horses are known for stamina, energy, intelligence, tractability, speed, and beauty. These characteristics make our Saddlebred horses the perfect ranch horse. We use our horses Cache Creek and Gift of Diamonds for ranch work such as riding the fence line to check for breaks. Cache Creek is sired by the stunning Radiant Sultan out of Sugar Moves by Stonewall's Main Event. He was bred by Far Field Farms. Gift of Diamonds is sired by the flashy paint, Chubasco out of Gift Certificate out of champion Finisterre's Gift of Love. She was bred by Scripps Mirramar Ranch. Our rescue Saddlebred mare, the gentle and kind Miss Georgia Pearl, is a retired Amish cart horse. She is reserved for the pleasure and delight of the children - who she adores.
It has been of great satisfaction to have had the opportunity to offer the ranch in a charitable way. In December of 2005, we hosted Monty Roberts, The Horse Whisperer, while he, horses and staff were in Lake County to do a teacher training program using Mr. Roberts' gentling techniques. Mr. Roberts has kindly volunteered his time and staff to aid Lake County teachers in understanding ways of working with children in a non-violent manner and we are proud to be of any assistance in this noble and worthy cause. |
